We are pleased to introduce and welcome our new Senior Security Advisor, Franco Fantozzi, who, as an experienced Security Expert, will now be happy to support International SOS team and clients..

BIO

Dr. Franco FANTOZZI was born in Rome on January 19th, 1961.

He served for over 30 years in the Arms of Carabinieri, with the rank of Officer of the "Ruolo Normale", most of them in the Special Operations, with command positions in units engaged in the fight against organized crime and terrorism.

He has carried out long-term operational missions in South America in the field of drug trafficking and kidnapping and for six years headed the Italian Liaison Office for Italy at the European Police Office (EUROPOL), located in The Hague (The Netherlands).

After two years as Director of Security and Compliance Officer at a Spanish multinational company in the gaming sector where he developed expertise in the area of 231/2001, Anti-Money Laundering and Physical Security, he was Associate Director Corporate Security for one of the major US drug multinationals, for 6 years with responsibility for ensuring the security of the Company's personnel, products, property and information, supervising and coordinating security programs and outsourcing activities both in Italy and in the EMEA Region.

He is currently the Security and Crisis manager of Boehringer - Ingelheim, the German multinational drug company based in Milan and other Italian cities and collaborates as Senior Security Advisor with INTERNATIONAL SOS.

He represents the Pharmaceutical Security Institute in Italy, and coordinates the activities of TAPA WG for Italy, developing projects and initiatives in the field of supply chain security, the fight against counterfeiting and criminal phenomena to the detriment of the pharmaceutical world.

He holds a degree in Political Science from the University "Federico II" of Naples, a degree in Internal Security Science from the University "Tor Vergata" in Rome and a 2nd level Master in Intelligence and Security from the University of Malta.

He has obtained certification in accordance with UNI 11697:2017 as Data Protection Manager (DPO) as required by European Regulation 2016/679.

He teaches "Technologies for Security" in the Master's Degree Course in Public Policy at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences at Universtiy Cattolica S.Cuore of Milan.
