WEBINAR RESOURCES: BLEISURE TRAVEL

Bleisure travel, adding a leisure portion of travel to a business trip, is becoming a popular way to make the most out of business travel. As the lines between business and personal travel blur, organisations are facing uncharted territory regarding employee safety.

To further explore the impacts of this trend on the Australasia region, International SOS and CAPA – Centre for Aviation recently conducted a regional survey of over 100 Australia and New Zealand organisations regarding their views on bleisure travel and responsibilities.
  • Managers and senior executives are most likely to add leisure travel to a business trip
  • 36% of respondents require staff members to take their own private insurance if they add a leisure component
  • 9 in 10 respondents believe the traveller is responsible for the leisure portion of business travel and not the organisation
Making a decision to approve bleisure travel is not a simple yes or no statement. Many stakeholders need to be involved in the decision process, including HR, insurance, risk management and legal departments. That’s why we pulled together a team of industry experts to discuss a few of the key risk factors organisations need to address while making their travel policies.
